2025MMIF: A success story

Minister of Mining Kenneth Zikhale Ng'oma has emphasized the importance of involving youth and women in the mining sector.
Ng'oma made the remarks during the closing ceremony of a two-day mining Indaba, attracting local and international stakeholders.
He noted the necessity of implementing strict measures to protect the mining sector, highlighting that Malawi has not reaped sufficient benefits from its resources in the past.
In addition, he stressed that youth and women could significantly contribute to the industry if given the opportunity.
With technological advancements, Ng'oma mentioned that young people can drive innovation within the mining sector.
"Investors should come to Malawi and conduct their operations here, rather than taking our minerals abroad for sample testing. We need to create jobs and energize the mining sector, as it has the potential to transform our economy," he stated.
