The first-ever two-day Malawi Mining Investment Forum ends with the Minister of Mining Monica Chang'anamuno assuring all stakeholders that government is fully committed to supporting and facilitating the growth of the mining industry in Malawi.
H.E. President of Malawi Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera opened the Forum on Tuesday.
"We recognize the importance of creating a conducive environment for investment and ensuring responsible and sustainable practices and promoting inclusive growth and benefits that benefit all stakeholders," Chang'anamuno said.
The Minister thanked President Chakwera for his gesture saying it reaffirms the President's commitment to see the mining sector grow.
Over 500 delegates attended the conference which was hosted at #BICC.
Among the foreign delegates were HE Martin Gama Abucha - Minister of Mining, Republic of South Sudan, HE Dr Stephen Lemomo Kiruswa - Deputy Minister of Minerals, United Republic of Tanzania, HE Moses Michael Engadu - Secretary General, Africa Mineral Strategy Group, Mr Ali Sale Alswayeh, Chairperson Ingaz Group of Companies from Saudi Arabia and Hurlingham Jambo - Democratic Republic of Congo.
